Good Morning! I got back home last night, tired but rejuvenated from the long trip to Minnesota and back. It was a wonderful family reunion! Thank all of you for the welcoming Minnesota voices and traveling well-wishers!
This morning I just felt like I have to post.. we are in a moment of history, there is no doubt about it. It is our moment, to do with what we will. The days ahead will be filled with twists and turns, things we cannot imagine now. Desperate moves by a seriously ill old man, clinging to power. Slimy underlings positioning themselves. Technocrats plotting. Undeniable verification of sexual abuse from powerful men. We don’t know… but does it really matter now?
I saw in an early post this morning the headline the Judge Michael Luttig had said it’s too late now—it’s over. I was so upset by that that I couldn’t even ready the full article. But I refuse to accept that this is over. Yes, our leaders in Congress have abandoned us, our Supreme Court has abandoned us, in the name of unfettered power. Our guardrails have failed, we are left unmoored in a sea of greed and corruption.
But we are we, we are us, Millions of us showed up at marches yesterday that if nothing else let all of us know we are out there. We are not going to accept this cruelty, this chaos and this corruption. We will fight with everything we can, in every way we can. We will fight because we love our country. Everyone find your voice now, choose your fight and give it everything you’ve got. We can’t back down now. We just can’t give up.
There are days I too feel like Judge Luttig, but then I realize the more who feel that way the truer the statement is. We need every fighter we have. I set aside a wallow in pity period to acknowledge it is a part of the chaos and in short order I realize I must continue the fight or our Democracy will be lost. We need every soldier possible. Remember pre WWII Germans felt they were lost but many still fought and in the end they won. We can do it too!
Hi Janie, I enjoy hearing from you. You're building a community. As heartbreaking & terrifying as this time is, we can't give up. Millions of fellow Americans are resisting in so many ways. 🫂🇺🇸🙏♥️
